About
Abel is a PhD student at the Institut Montpelliérain Alexander Grothendieck (IMAG) working on statistical models to understand the different RNA degradation mechanisms in plants. He started his education with a bachelors degree in general mathematics then followed by a masters degree in statistics and data science, with a focus in biostatistics. He is now both extending existing work on RNA degradation and developing new tools to better understand this phenomenon, and thus using direct RNA sequencing data. Abel enjoys working across a range of biological topics and greatly values multidisciplinary collaborations. Although not his main focus, he also enjoys hearing about statistical learning in a broad sense.
